The Bunkhouse

The Ben Nevis Inn bunkhouse* is located in one of the most beautiful and famous areas of Scotland, at the very foot of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain.

If you have not stayed with us before please read through the information contained on this page. The accommodation is basic and functional and provides you with essential accommodation after a long day on the hills. The added bonus of our bar and restaurant located immediately above the bunkhouse presents the opportunity for you to unwind over a few beers and a wholesome meal.

Prices for 2017: £17.00 per person per night.

Access to the bunkhouse is situated at the back of our building through the second door on the right hand side. The code for the keypad will be contained in your confirmation email or you can ask a member of our staff. Click here for our location.

 

The hostel bunkhouse offers everything that walkers and mountaineers will need

Self catering kitchen (Our restaurant upstairs is open from 12 noon serving food all day til 9pm)
Comfortable bunk beds
Drying cupboard
2 Showers

Bed linen provided (no sleeping bags permitted)
Towels are not provided

The bunkhouse is largely open plan with 24 beds split into three sections with 8 bunks to a dorm. We do not provide breakfast but there is a large kitchen for self catering purposes and our restaurant is open from 12noon.

JJ’s Cafe located at Lochybridge PH33 7NU provide an all day breakfast with locally sourced meat and Stornoway black pudding. They are a 5 minute drive away located 2 miles from the Ben Nevis Inn (just off the A830 Mallaig road opposite Farmfoods). John and Jane are open daily from 8am – 3.30pm but can cater for earlier breakfasts if required for larger groups. Takeaway is also available on request. Alternatively, there is a shop 1 mile from the Inn who provide breakfast and filled rolls.

Our restaurant and bar area is located upstairs from the Bunkhouse and is open 7 days during the summer and Thursday – Sunday throughout the winter.
Advance booking is strongly recommended as the Bunkhouse is an exceptionally popular place for mountaineers and walkers.

Cancellation Policy:
Bookings must be cancelled at the latest 14 days before your arrival in order to receive a full refund. Any cancellation within 14 days of your arrival date will not be refundable.

Please note: 100% of the booking cost is payable upon confirmation of your booking.

*A bunkhouse is a hostel or barracks-like building that historically was used to house working cowboys on ranches in North America. As most cowboys were young single men, the standard bunkhouse was a large open room with narrow beds or cots for each individual and little privacy
